Simon Nye’s new ITV drama FINDING ALICE announced!
October 18, 2019 |

Written by Simon Nye and Roger Goldby, the darkly comic contemporary drama FINDING ALICE follows Alice, whose husband Harry dies after falling down the stairs he had designed when they move into their newly finished dream house. His accidental sudden death kicks up a storm of secrets and mess, debt, suspicion and criminality which Alice is forced to confront in order to survive. The house itself is eccentric and impractical, and the fact that Alice can’t open the garage doors only adds to her sense of isolation and frustration.

BODYGUARD and THE DURRELLS actress Keeley Hawes, who helped developing the series, will star in the titular role as Alice. “I am absolutely delighted to be working with the brilliant Simon Nye and the hugely talented Roger Goldby on a project that means so much to all of us. I have been a huge fan of [executive producer] Nicola Shindler for many years and I’m thrilled to be working with her at last on FINDING ALICE.”

FINDING ALICE is being produced by Red Production Company in association with Bright Pictures TV, Buddy Club Productions and Genial Productions. The executive producers are Nicola Shindler, Roger Goldby, Simon Nye and Keeley Hawes. Studiocanal will handle global sales.

“When Keeley, Roger and Simon came to me with Finding Alice I was so excited to find a project about a complex, flawed and funny woman in such extreme circumstances who I felt an audience would fall in love with”, said Red Production Company founder Nicola Shindler. “This is exactly the kind of drama I love to make at Red and look forward to starting shooting.”

ITV’s Head of Drama, Polly Hill, added: “This is a brilliant script – emotionally truthful and darkly funny. It’s about family and grief and introduces us to the wonderfully original character of Alice. The show has been developed with Keeley Hawes, and Alice was written for her, and she is going to be unmissable in the role.

Filming for Finding Alice will commence in January 2020.
