Paven Virk is one of the 12 finalist chosen out of over 2,800 applicants to be a part of the 2021 Channel 4 screen writing programme.
“Creating the right conditions for new talent to flourish, to express its voice and bring it to a wider audience; these are the key drivers behind 4Screenwriting. It’s a hothouse for writers. Graduates from the course include those who’ve gone on to write for SHAMELESS and INDIAN SUMMERS for Channel 4 and YOUNGERS and BANANA for E4.”
They will spend the next six months developing a TV idea with the support of C4 & Philip Shelley.
Paven is part of the prestigious Guiding Lights scheme with Simon Beaufoy as her mentor, who has since then become a script consultant on feature BHANGRA with Lundi Shackleton producing and advisor on her TV drama series NISHA. She has also been selected for BBC VOICES 2021
