January 26, 2015 |

Evan Placey’s short piece premieres alongside other explosive plays by Caryl Churchill, Ryan Craig, April De Angelis, Tim Fountain, Hannah Khalil, Neil LaBute, Hattie Naylor, Gbolahan Obisesan, Julia Pascal, Mark Ravenhill and Sarah Solemani.

Exploring Freedom of Expression in the UK arts today, these plays have been written in response to the events of 2014 at the Tricycle, Underbelly and Barbican. Commissioned by Offstage Theatre in association with Theatre Uncut, the twelve 5 minute plays will be followed by an energetic post-show discussion with the audience and an exciting panel. These discussions will vary each night from boycotts and protests, to social media and political responsibility. The invited panel will vary nightly from political pundits, journalists, leading artistic directors, world famous campaigners and academics.

The plays will be performed at Theatre Delicatessen, 119 Farringdon Road, from 26th – 31st January 2015. Selected plays will be available for anyone anywhere to read and perform, rights-free, during the period 2nd – 9th February 2015 (the plays will be available to download from the Theatre Uncut website from the morning of 2nd February).
