Robert Thorogood

Robert is the creator of DEATH IN PARADISE for BBC One, which is currently in its twelfth series. Episodes regularly attract audiences of over 8 million in the UK, and it’s been sold to most territories around the world.

He has since co-created the Death in Paradise spin-off series, BEYOND PARADISE, for BBC / Britbox international. It stars Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton and broadcasts on BBC One in early 2023

 

In 2019 he adapted the novel TRACKERS by Deon Meyer into a 6 x 1 hour series for Cinemax/M-Net/ZDF. When broadcast in South Africa, it became the channel’s most-watched show of the year.

 

He is currently adapting his novel THE MARLOW MURDER CLUB for television for Monumental Pictures. The first book in the series was an international best-seller and has been translated into over a dozen languages. The second book in the series is being published in January 2023, and he’s been commissioned to write three further books.

 

Robert was educated at Cambridge University, where he was President of Footlights.
