I Am Not Myself These Days

Adapted by Tom Stuart / Directed by Nick Bagnall / Produced by Fuel

A shockingly direct and heartbreakingly funny new play about love and self-discovery in the flashy, trashy New York of the 1990s.

I Am Not Myself These Days is the story of one man’s unconventional journey to self-acceptance that resonates far beyond the confines of the story.

★★★★ The Stage – “I wasn’t expecting to be so moved by this, yet the emotions it stirred up lingered for the rest of the day, never quite leaving… profoundly affecting, and by turns warm, bitter, optimistic, cynical and deeply, profoundly human.”

★★★★ Three Weeks – “A mesmerising show which will smack you in the face and demand your attention”

The Scotsman – “Stuart is a charismatic presence and a fine actor and storyteller”

“The show was brilliant from start to finish…at least from what I could see through tears and half covered eyes. Tom Stuart’s performance is pure, raw energy at a level that I’ve never seen before. As someone said to me: “I wanted to rush the stage and hug him to make it all stop, but also couldn’t deny myself from seeing what came next.
I’m glad this story continues to be told, because I still deeply believe Aqua has something important to teach others, just as she taught me. Thank you, Tom Stuart and Fuel Productions for giving her voice again in such a remarkable way.”
