Tom is currently developing a new BBC television series with Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter’s production company Bad Wolf. The series is based on the novel KISS OF THE WOLF by acclaimed American author Jim Shepard.
Tom is also working with 87 Films writing several television scripts for the Chinese language market based on the iconic Tang Dynasty detective JUDGE DEE created by Robert van Gulik.
Tom’s pilot television script DAMASCUS has recently been commissioned by Trevor Eve’s production company Projector Pictures UK. And a new series idea CROSSLAND is beginning development with Bandit Television under the Endemol Shine umbrella. Bandit Television are also working with Tom on a TV mini series A HISTORY OF LONELINESS based on the bestselling novel by John Boyne (The boy in the striped pyjamas) .
Tom has developed original scripts for numerous production companies and studios in America. Most recently for NBC (USA), ABC Studios (USA) and Dreamworks (USA).
Tom was lead writer on the multiple award winning television drama series RAW (RTE / Ecosse Films) which ran for five series. He was also on the writing and acting team of YOUR BAD SELF (RTE / Treasure Films), an irreverent sketch show that won the Best Entertainment prize at the 2011 Irish Film and Television Awards.
Other comedy writing credits include the hugely popular BBC show THE KUMAR’S AT NO. 42.
Tom also works as an actor. Television and film credits include roles in FATHER TED, DOCTOR WHO! and INTERMISSION. Theatre highlights include playing the lead in Martin McDonagh’s THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN (Leicester Haymarket).
