Robin is an experienced sitcom writer having worked on TWO PINTS OF LAGER AND A PACKET OF CRISPS and contributed heavily to MY FAMILY. Although sitcoms are his passion he is currently exploring other genres.
Robin has a range of sitcom writing experience over the past nine years. At the age of 23 he won the BBC Talent sitcom competition in 2004 with MARIGOLD which went on to become a BBC3 pilot starring Angus Deayton and Selina Griffiths. He then became a part of the writing team on TWO PINTS OF LAGER AND A PACKET OF CRISPS (BBC3), eventually show-running and co-writing series nine with David Cantor. He has had numerous new script commissions, plus table and episode writing across four series of MY FAMILY (BBC1), contributing to over forty episodes of broadcast television. Studio sitcom remains his primary passion but he is also exploring new genres, developing ideas in drama and horror.
His current projects include EAT, DRINK AND BE MARRIED, an exploration of modern relationships, and DEVILISH, a Faustian tale for the selfie generation.
Robin has a sociology degree that he can’t help but make use of when writing jokes about the way we live now, and he reveals in exploring rich and complex characters.
