Neil is an actor and screenwriter and has worked with numerous high-profile directors. His screenwriting debut, THE PASSAGE, premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2007 and STAR CROSSED followed in 2009.
Neil’s feature writing career began in 2007 with THE PASSAGE, produced by Lynette Howell and starring Neil and Stephen Dorff. The stylized thriller was shot in Morocco and premiered at the 2007 Toronto Film Festival. It went on to win the Durango Film Festival Jury Award for Best Film in 2008.
Neil’s second feature film was STAR CROSSED in 2009; a reimagining of Romeo and Juliet set in the world of Portugese football and shot entirely in Porto, Portugal. STAR CROSSES starred Portugese sensation Diogo Morgado (SON OF GOD) and was produced by Russell Gray, marking the duo’s first collaboration.
Neil and Russell have since formed their own production company with a number of UK projects in development: FOR GOD & COUNTRY – an epic 6 part mini-series detailing the true story behind the men and events that lead to the Gunpowder Plot of 1665; ALPHA ONE – an action based political thriller TV series, loosley based on Dumas’ Three Musketeers legend; and THE JOURNEYMAN – a dark character driven tale of one man’s quest for redemption in the low-level world of professional boxing.
As an actor Neil been cast in a range of roles in high profile films and television series including ALEXANDER, BLADE: THE SERIES, YOU WILL MEET A TALL DARK STRANGER, PUSH and QUANTUM OF SOLACE.
