Helen Monks
As a teenager, Helen’s radio play ONE DAY was made in collaboration with The REP and BBC Birmingham. Her play PIANO MAN was performed in The Door at The REP in 2005 as part of Transmissions Festival. After winning their Young Writer’s competition Helen’s radio play, CHICKEN SALAD OF A TROUBLED MIND was made by the Wireless Theatre Company in 2013. Her play, PILLOW TALK was staged at The Tacchi Morris Arts Centre in 2014.
In 2015, Helen co-wrote E15 with Matt Woodhead, which has subsequently been published by Oberon Books. After two successful runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, receiving critical acclaim from the national press, it is now on a national tour with Battersea Arts Centre. Her play DOLLY WANTS TO DIE previewed at Underbelly Cowgate in 2016.
