Currently the trio are developing LITTLE START UP with Roughcut TV for Sky One. They’re also developing NOSH with Hartswood Films and have been commissioned to write their first feature film, adapting the novel ‘We Can Be Heroes’ by Catherine Bruton. Commissioned from an original treatment, STEAL AWAY is their most recent feature film in development with Alison Owen of Monumental Pictures.
Having met writing and directing youth theatre in the West Midlands Claire, Stu and Ian – or CSI Birmingham, if you like – made their first foray into writing for television with DISMISSED, a comedy set in a Pupil Referral Unit in Walsall. DISMISSED was developed with Ash Atalla at Roughcut TV and was made into a taster tape for BBC3.
Since then CSI were commissioned to write two scripts by BBC1 for TOOLS, a sitcom also with Roughcut TV, about the staff of Homezone DIY superstore. The pilot episode of TOOLS was selected to be part of the 2014 BBC Salford Showcase and was performed in front of a live studio audience.
Since 2013 Claire, Stu and Ian have created and written three series of THE JOB LOT for ITV. Starring Russell Tovey and Sarah Hadland THE JOB LOT is set in a job centre in the fictional West Midlands town of Brownall and is produced by Big Talk Productions. Series three is currently showing on ITV2.
Ian lives in London with his wife Izzy and supports Birmingham City from a safe distance. Claire and Stu live in Birmingham with their two kids and love climbing the Wrekin!
