Brydie Lee-Kennedy

Brydie is a displaced Australian writer and occasional performer living in London and complaining about the weather exactly the same amount as every other Australian living in London.

Brydie has written extensively for television and other media in Australia and the UK. She is currently the Story Editor on Cartoon Network’s The Amazing World Of Gumball while also working on shows for America, Australia and Canada. She is also a regular columnist for sites such as BuzzFeed, The Guardian and SBS Australia.

Brydie began her career as a writer and performer of live comedy, touring her sketch, cabaret, improv and children’s shows to The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, The Edinburgh Fringe, The Brighton Fringe and many, many cities and towns in between. She earned accolades worldwide as the writer of Princess Cabaret, a satirical take on the Disney Princesses. In 2014, she launched her first solo hour, Brydie Lee-Kennedy Repeats On You, which Broadway Baby called “Sophisticated, well-crafted and touching storytelling from a woman who’s lead a life less ordinary”. She followed up in 2015 with Brydie Lee-Kennedy Loves You Too, described by Chortle as “A delightful thing that wears its intelligence lightly”.

Brydie’s currently working on a number of projects including a hopefully-not-gross take on the romantic comedy, a musical about the wives of Henry VIII and a definitive ranking of the margaritas in London bars.
